Mies Body Products

Since the first time we visited Mies Body Products at Kamers vol Geskenke 2 years ago we were hooked!

The stall was pretty as a picture and Marlese (the owner) was super warm and friendly. Lindi and I visit local markets and events like Kamers and the Ideas Market regularly, always enjoying the local talent and sourcing our “new favourite” products. So you can sort of say Mies Body Products is an old favourite of Burst. Our relationship with Mies is two years strong with a lot of scrubbing, oiling and spoiling to come!

Mies is not only of superb quality, but also natural and made with ingredients like brown sugar, extra virgin olive oil, seed oils, essential oils and flowers of rose and lavender. Almost so natural you can eat it! We have an awesome give-away starting Monday, where Burst and Mies are going to spoil one lucky reader with a Mies Body Scrub – click here for details on how to win!!

But first – more detail on two of our favourite Mies Body Products:
Mies Body Scrub
When opening a jar of Mies Body Scrub you are almost intoxicated with a lovely fresh and clean smell of rosemary, geranium and lemon. The scrub is sugar based giving it a really coarse feel on the skin. Using your hands to gently rub the scrub against your skin has a melting effect on the sugar, creating a moisturising layer on your skin. This amazing product will not only make you smell amazing, it will also put an end to that constant feeling of not doing enough for you skin and body – especially to that annoying spots of cellulite!
Use it in the shower or bath all over your body (from your shoulders to your tired feet), rinse off and merely dab the towel over your body. The oil in the scrub – giving you that lovely moisturising feeling – will draw in completely leaving your skin soft and oh so smooth!
To top it all of this amazing exfoliator is packaged neatly in a vintage feminine jar which makes you feel special and spoilt when using it.

Mies Hand and Body Oil
The word “oil” always scared me. I’m not a huge fan of that oily feeling or residue on my skin.
Luckily my worries were “moisturised” away by Mies Hand and Body Oil. The scent (again – it’s a thing with Mies Body Products) is amazing. Fresh, clean, a bit grassy and just lovely!
The classy 50 ml bottle which the oil is sold in is classy and easy to use. The size makes it perfect for carrying around in your handbag or to put on your night stand for that extra kick of moisture just before you go to bed. The oil is super smooth on your skin and is absorbed by the skin super quickly. I like to use it as a hand oil but love it as a body oil. It works wonders!
After days of applying the oil to my upper arms, thighs and legs I tried it on my elbows. I have a huge problem with that hard (darker!) patch of skin on my elbows. It just isn’t pretty! Since I started using Mies Hand and Body Oil on my elbows my skin feels smooth and clean. I still scrub my elbows daily (with Mies Body Scrub of course!) but the oil certainly makes a huge difference. As I am getting married in a 100 days I found this gem just in time to save my elbows and dignity on my wedding day!
