Solace Therapy has been my go-to salon since I started working in the city. Ushanta, the founder, has gone from a small treatment room in a hair salon to owning her own space in the new Portside FNB building and has years of experience behind her. Solace is ideally located for a quick treatment over lunch or after work for missing the traffic.
The salon has such a relaxing atmosphere and is filled with light from the big windows. When you step inside you will immediately feel cool and calm and ready to relax! Solace offers various treatments: Massages, Waxing & Threading, Environ Facials, Optiphi Treatments, Skin Rejuvenation Treatments, Dr Varsha treatments, IPL Hair Removal Treatments, Manicures and Pedicures (Vinylux, Gelish, Bio-Sculpture, Medi-heel, Acrylic) and lash extensions.
All the ladies are helpful and friendly and always willing to help you enjoy the experience. Enjoy a cup of coffee, get your nails done and unwind from a busy day, while still in the bustling city. One of the things I always come back for is waxing and threading. I personally prefer threading, and Ushanta introduced me to the concept. Whilst I found it strange at first, it is the perfect solution for a sensitive skin. I always had such a breakout from waxing my eyebrows and threading is great because no hot wax is applied to my delicate skin.
I will still invest in some laser hair removal treatments at Solace let me know if you would like to read about it on the blog!
We had a medi-heel treatment done yesterday and my feet are looking and feeling amazing again! A medi-heel treatment involves a chemical peeling of all the dead skin from your feet. No skin is cut or grated off which is extremely bad for your feet, as it just grows back even harder. I love this treatment due to all dead skin being removed without all the effort. Your feet end up so soft and moist afterwards, you won’t believe it!
Yesterday I also discovered Crisnail, (lot’s of new nail terms being thrown around this month) Crisnail forms part of the CND collection and is their version of “normal” cutex. I will have to see how long this lasts compared to the Vinylux I tried previously.
So whenever you are in the city and in desperate need of a treatment or just a relaxing massage, look them up in the Portside building on the Bree Street side!
