From the heart : Fear of Failure

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders…

You call me out upon the waters, The great unknown where feet may fail…

Failure – the little voice at the back of your head, the feeling of doubt in your heart.  Failure is a scary thought. But it is so so real and forever somewhere in the back of our minds.  Playing with your feelings and slowly building up that wall between the dream God placed in your heart and the lies that tell you your dream castle is going to come crumbling down.

In life we are often so captivated by the fear of not being enough and that whatever we do will fail that we forget what it’s all about.  We forget that behind it all sits an all consuming, all knowing God.  Ready to save us, to captivate our hearts with love and grace and forgiveness.  We forget to look up and thank Him for how far we have come.  He is the one that has brought us to the place where we are now.

And there I find You in the mystery, In oceans deep. My faith will stand…

I found a little quote over on P31 Ministries (view here), and it was one of those moments where I felt that God was talking to me, directly, telling me to listen up, you gotta take this to heart!

Move your mind from the Goal, to the Giver of the Goal.

WOW! Such a powerful piece of knowledge. Without God – the giver of the goal – our goal is nothing.  It would have ended where it began.

In John 15 verse 4 Jesus says: “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Every time something doesn’t go according to my plan or my timing – I will call His name

Every time I feel overwhelmed and consumed by fear – I will keep my eyes above the waves

Every time someone disappoints me – I will rest in His embrace

Forever and a day – I am His and He is mine.

This piece has really been written from my heart and is definitely about the season I am going through and trying to deal with the fear of failure.  So I really hope that you find some encouragement or inspiration from it!
