"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."
1. It establishes a great feeling of gratitude
The last couple of days we were extremely blessed with rain showers all over the Western Cape. The rain hopefully brought relieve during the ongoing drought. We should be thankful and stay on our knees this winter - enjoying every drop from heaven. Don't let the cold make you feel all gloomy or throw a tantrum when your hair gets wet. Its a free shower...everything is life is what you make it!
2. It feels amazing
When it rains, it nourishes and renews all life. It is like washing your yesterdays away. Dancing in the rain brings the same overwhelming feeling you get when you step into the ocean... Everything you are and all the things you went through brought you to this moment. Let go and start again. Today is the beginning of your future.
3. It improves your mood
Recently, there's been a significant amount of research showing that simply being outside in nature reduces your stress hormones.
4. It brings us closer together
Seeking shelter from the storm or becoming drenched in the rain makes us more vulnerable. It usually leaves us exposed in front of strangers - with frizzy hair and a wet clothes smell. We end up being physically and emotionally closer to other people, forcing us to connect. Look into each other's eyes and make conversation. You might as well enjoy waiting for the storm to pass.
