Heart Cheese Puffs

Valentine’s day is the perfect time to be extra cheesy! So why not try out these super easy heart cheese puffs? Like I have mentioned in a previous puff-pastry-recipe [here]. I pretty much always have an extra roll in the freezer.  When you have unexpected guests over these make the perfect little snacks, and you can make them sweet or savoury.

  • 1/2 tub cream cheese Your favourite flavour
  • 1 roll Puff Pastry
  • egg yolks

Instructions
  1. Roll out the puff pastry until it reaches the desired thickness.
  2. Using a heart cookie cutter, cut out 24 hearts.

  3. Place 12 hearts on a baking tray (I used baking paper as well) and spread them out evenly.
  4. Using a teaspoon place a blob on each heart.

  5. Cover each heart with another heart and seal them by using a fork all round the edges. Brush egg yolk / milk on the puffs.

  6. Bake in the oven for about 25 min at 200 *C.
  7. Serve your loved one with heart cheesy pies 🙂
