  • 500grams Dried split peas
  • 250grams Dried soup mix
  • 4litres Boiling Water
  • 1block Chicken Stock
  • 400grams Lamb Stewing MeatOr bacon if you fancy a more smokey flavour.
  • 10ml Salt
  • 10ml Coarse Ground Black Pepper
  • 1large Potato
  • 1large Sweet Potato
  • 1large Onion
  • 1large Carrot
  • Worcester SauceTo taste
  1. Soak the peas and soup mix in water overnight or for about 8 hours. Make sure to rinse the mixture thoroughly afterwards. As a rule of thumb, rinse till the water runs clear from the mixture!
  2. Fill your soup or stew pot with the boiling water. Add the peas, soup mix, salt, pepper, stock block and lamb meat. Bring it to a slight boil on low heat and let simmer for 2-3 hours.
  3. Grate the potato, sweet potato, onion and carrot into the mixture. Mix through and let simmer for another hour till thick.
  4. Serve with a squirt of Worcester Sauce and fresh bread.
